What's New in v2.2.9?

Katmandoo v2.2.9 with the new features and updated changes was released on 16 June 2009.

Version Tracker lists all the changes made in Katmandoo.

These are the major changes:

• Katmandoo can use Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 or MySQL 5.1 database to store data.
• Missing Value of Trait is now part of the .config file so that it can be changed as required (before the database has any raw data. Its default value is "NA" for numeric and non-numeric traits. 
• Database Login passwords are now encrypted. The login password can be changed using Katmandoo only when the database server is running on a local computer.
• Kollect-Trait can be used to collect trait score using PDA operating on Window-Mobile Operating System. 

• Filial Generation and Genotype Color columns are added in Genotype table.
• GeoCoordinate table is added to store GPS coordinates of Location, Trial and Trial Unit.
• Datatype of Unit Position is changed to String so that alpha-numeric value can be used ie a unit position virtual column eg Plot_Id can have data like "A1".
• New SampleTypeFactor table allows Katmandoo to store raw data on different sample levels.
• Genotype group table is added.
• Katmandoo upgrades to Database Schema v2.2.09.05 when the user logged-in as dba.

• Null can be used as value for filter value.
• New merge  modules are added: Merge Genotype, Merge Site Year, Merge Trait, Merge Organisation and Merge Site.
• Trial Acronym Suffix can be changed even when a site has trial data.
• Trial Acronym Prefix can be changed even when a trial type has trial data.
• [ dba ] password can be reset to default using context menu in Login Form.
• Katmandoo can be configured to use operating-system authentication ie user does not have to enter user name and password if s/he has logged-in to the system that host Katmandoo.
• System column can be shadowed in order to hide column name used in the database structure.
• Import Genotype can parse and import Pedigree in Purdy format. It can also import parent data using female and male parent name.
• Export Genotype can dynamically generate pedigree in Purdy format while exporting data.
• Parse & Display Pedigree form allows user to to display pedigree tree using available parent information.
• Export datafile for KollecTrait using Katmandoo
• Import raw data into Katmandoo using KollecTrait output file

Column position in the Main Form can be modified using [ View > Arrange column in Main Form ].

Site Type, Operation Type and Design Type can be added directly from Site Setup Form, Trial Operation Setup Form and Trial Setup Form

Raw data:

• Raw data can be deleted for a single or multiple traits.
• [ Quick Export ] in Export Raw Data can export raw data with pedigree in an Excel file (without running Export Wizard).

Export Wizard

• Export data to Excel 2007 and in HTML formats.
• Export process can be cancelled by clicking on [ Cancel ] button in the wizard.
• Misc Group can be added using Export Wizard with the columns in the [ Included List ].

Import Wizard

• Can import data using Excel 2007 file.
• Import process can be cancelled before Katmandoo starts saving data into database.
• Can use source file that have column names with SPACE, underscore or # characters as well.
• Mapped-column and mapped-trait are saved into data as column alias and trait alias respectively if the mapping already does not exists in Katmandoo.
• Design Type, Site Type, Trait, Trial type can be added directly from Import Wizard.

Import Location can import Site and Site Year as well.
