Set up New Sub-system (Demo)

Task => System => Manage Sub-systems

• Click on "Manage Sub-system" this will open the following screen.

The sub-system can be used to have different crop data within the same database, see  Sub-system. for more information.

Look up at the top Left Hand corner of the main screen, you will see the "add" button 

Click on 

Enter New Sub system Name in the "Sub-system Name" field

In this case "Demo"

This sets up the default system groups

And click on 

Katmandoo has Invalid Characters for string AK Value: These values separated by pipe ( | ) and are NOT allowed to be used in the string Alternate Key (AK) value such as Genotype Name

In some crops have " , " (coma) and " ; " (semi colon) characters are used in genotypes names within that crop. To be able to use these characters we have  to modify the Invalid Characters for the sub-system.

• Mode Restricted Character for string AK value: delete " ,|;| " .

Select "Invalid Character for straing AK value" row and highlight  the text and delete the characters  " ;| "

(Note: Invalid Characters for string AK Value: These values separated by pipe ( | ) and are NOT allowed to be used in the string Alternate Key (AK) value such as Genotype Name, Site Name etc. see "Reserved Keyword" )

(The root file path default is set to C:\data\Katmandoo this is where Katmandoo loads and saves the files to be used .
To Change Default folder locations  see Modify Sub-systems root folder path )

To save these changes you must  click on  

 Click on 

We now set up the new Sub-system copying data from the standard template.

Click on 

The follow screen will open to help copy data to the new Sub-system

To copy the data from the Sub system Template to the New Sub-system.

Click on

      

This opens up the data copy screen

Select the "Source Sub-system" to copy the data from

Click on 

A report screen will display, 

 Click on Ok

 Click on  Close




The next sreen refreshes the Sub-system so that the changes are updated in the database.

The system then returns the the main screen,  Change the operating sub system from Sub-system template to Demo

We now have added a new Sub-system to the database as part of the Demo tutorail we will use this new Sub-system to add data to.

Notes: Current Year of the Sub-system: Data up to this current year can ONLY be entered into the system. If "Apply default filter to Current Year" is "true" then the Site Year and Trial form are filtered to the current year when they are loaded.

Invalid Characters for string AK Value: These values separated by pipe ( | ) and are NOT allowed to be used in the string Alternate Key (AK) value such as Genotype Name, Site Name etc

Invalid Characters for string filter Value: These values separated by pipe ( | ) and are NOT allowed to be used in the filter value (of the filter controls in the main forms)

Invalid Characters for string Value: These values separated by pipe ( | ) and are NOT allowed to be used for any string value.
