This subsection of
Katmandoo manages information
from the analysis of
series of experiments.
Katmandoo stores information on tha analysis
of series of experiments (METs) at three levels:
- MET
Information at this level pertains to the entire analysis and includes details
of the trait of interest, statistical model, etc.
- MET group and subgroup
This level identifies the individual experiments that form the analysis and any
logical subgroups thereof for which predictions of treatment performance may be
made. For example, in the field trial context the set of experiments in the MET
may constitute the entire growing region. Predictions from the statistical model
of genotype performance can be made for the region as a whole (that is, over all
experiments) and also for various ecological zones (that is, subgroups of experiments)
within the region.
- Genotype (MET Group EGV)
This level stores the predicted genotype values from the MET partitioned according
to MET Group and any
explanatory variables used in the prediction process.
MET
MET level summaries:
- Trait
- Analysis end date: Forms part of the description
of the MET analysis.
- Image file name: Certain models for Genotype
x Environment interactions generate a pictorial summary in the form of a biplot.
- Statistical model: Text representation
of the model fitted
MET Group and Subgroup
Information held at the group level includes:
- Trial Id: Those experiments forming a particular
group for a given analysis. The full set of experiments used in a MET is regarded
as a special group while others constitute subgroups.
MET Group EGV
Information at the Genotype level:
- EGV: Estimated genetic value of a genotype
predicted from the analysis
- Group Id: Identifies the group of experiments
that the prediction applies to
- Treatment Id: Identifies the level of the
classifying
factor that the prediction applies to.
The following information must exist before a MET can be added into the database.
- Trial: The trial (ie header information) must
exist in the trial table to import MET Group Trial Record but its optional.
- Treatment: The Treatment
Virtual column that are used in the source file must exist in the database
so that system can create Treatment records while importing trial analysis.
- Trait: The trait information of the must exist
in the database before the trial analysis can be imported.
- Genotype: Genotype used in the Trial analysis
must exist in the Genotype Table. If the genotype in the source file is alias
of a Genotype, then it must exist in the Genotype Alias table.
- Contact: The analyst
name must exist in the Contact table. If the analyst information is not available, then
Unknown Contact should be used.
Note: Although Unknown Contact can be used, it is
preferable to add the Analyst information before importing a new MET. This avoids
changing at a later date.
Use [
Task > Phenotype
> Analysis > Manage Multi Environment Trial (MET) Analysis ] to load
MET Main Form with all the METs for the currently selected Sub-system in the database.

- Use [ View > Arrange columns in Main Form ] to change default order of displayed.
Alternately it can be changed by
editing the column list of the Misc Group
METSetupDataGrid.

- MET Group Datagrid is displaying the MET Group for which the EGV is shown
in MET Group EGV Datagrid (3).
- MET Group EGV Datagrid is displaying all the MET EGV for the selected MET Group
(2).
- The MET Group EGV are analysed using these trials (these are dummy data!).

MET can be added by importing
from the external source file only.
To edit a MET, follow the steps below :
- Select a MET in the main form.
