GeoCoordinate

In Katmandoo,GeoCoordinate records latitude, longitude and altitude of a point (place). It is used by Location, Trial and Trial Unit.

Latitude and Longitude

The Latitude and Longitude of GeoCoordinates uniquely identifies a point (place).

Latitude and Longitude are added in Katmandoo by following processes:

When Latitude and Longitude is entered for an existing or a new GeoCoordinate in Location Setup Form, Trial Setup Form or Trial Unit Setup Form, Katmandoo checks whether the Latitude and Longitude already exist in the GeoCoordinate table. If it does, then GeoCoordinateId is retrieved and updated in the respective table. If not, a new record is created in the GeoCoordinate table with given Latitude and Longitude. Then new GeoCoordinateId is retrieved and updated in the respective table.
[ Manage GeoCoordinate ] can be used to add GeoCoordinate records and update data for the virtual columns of the GeoCoordinate records. If a GeoCoordinate has already been used, then Latitude and Longitude can not be modified and it can not be deleted as well.

Column Name	Description
GeoCoordinateId (PK)	Identification Number that uniquely identifies a GeoCoordinate.
Latitude (AK1)	Latitude in decimal degree, use -ve for south (PointX)
Longitude (AK1)	Longitude in decimal degree, use -ve for west (PointY)
Altitude	Altitude of the GeoCoordinate in meter.
GeoCoordinateNote	Note of the GeoCoordinate.

Alternate Key (AK1): Latitude + Longitude uniquely identifies a GeoCoordinate.
Virtual columns (such as State, Region etc) can be added to the GeoCoordinateFactor table.
GeoCoordinate tab in the Data Dictionary has detailed information on the columuns used in GeoCoordinate and GeoCoordinateFactor tables.

Use [ Task > Trial > Site > Manage GeoCoordinate ] to load GeoCoordinate Main Form with all the geocoordinates in the database.

GeoCoordinate subform displays Virtual column information of the selected geocoordinate record.

- Use [ View > Arrange columns in Main Form ] to change default order of displayed. Alternately it can be changed by editing the column list of the Misc Group GeoCoordinateSetupDataGrid.

To add/edit a geocoordinate, follow the steps below :

Select a geocoordinate in the geocoordinate main form to modify.
Use [ Record > Add GeoCoordinate ] or [ Record > Edit GeoCoordinate ] or [ Record > Repeat GeoCoordinate ] to load the GeoCoordinate Setup Form to add/edit a location.

Latitude and Longitude are disabled since the GeoCoordinate has dependant data (in Location, Trial or Trial Unit table/s). It can not be changed.
Altitude (in meter).
Any note of the GeoCoordinate (can have upto 6000 characters)

- Important Note: If there is not any virtual column for GeoCoordinateFactor table, then second page is disabled.
A value for the displayed Virtual column can be entered on this part of the data grid.

Export

Click on Export button in the main form or use [ Record > Export > Export GeoCoordinate ] to start Export Wizard to export displayed GeoCoordinates.
Use [ Record > Export > Export Data Entry Template ] to start Export Template Wizard to export required column (to import later) into a Excel spreadsheet that can be used to enter GeoCoordinates. The spreadsheet can be used by the Import Wizard to import GeoCoordinates into the database.

Import

Click on Import button in the main form or use [ Record > Import > Import GeoCoordinate ] to start Import Wizard to import GeoCoordinates from external source file.
- The default order of columns displayed can be changed by editing the column list of the Misc Group GeoCoordinateSetupDataGrid.
- The source file must have Latitude and Longitude columns.
