Misc Group

Overview

Misc Groups are used in Katmandoo to customised the columns of datagrid and column names that are used in the Export wizard. Each Misc group belongs to one of the following Group type (that can not be changed or deleted).
  1. data Grid Column Group Type
  2. Export Column Group Type

data Grid Column Group Type (for Datagrid in Forms)

Misc Groups of this group type can be accessed using [ Task > System > Manage Misc Group (for Datagrid) ].

Since Name of Misc Groups of this group type are hard-coded in the system, they should NOT be deleted or their name must not be changed (but their description and the Column/Virtual Column List can be changed). These misc groups are used by the Main Datagrid of the main forms (such as Site Main Form, Trial Main Form etc) to display the column in the datagrid.

Export Column Group Type (for Export Wizard)

Misc Groups of this group type can be accessed using [ Task > System > Manage Misc Group (for Export Wizard) ]. These misc groups are used by the Export Wizard to preselect the column names to export data (ie the Column/Virtual Column List of the Misc Group are added into the [ Included (Virtual) Column ] list when the Misc Group is selected in the Export Wizard).

Misc Group for Datagrid

These misc groups are used by the Main Datagrid of the main forms (such as Site Main Form, Trial Main Form etc) to display the column in the datagrid.

Misc Group for Export Wizard

These are some  misc groups of Export Column Group Type that can be updated using [ Task > System > Manage Misc Group (for Export Wizard) ]. The misc groups of this group type can be added, edited or deleted as required using Misc Group Main Form or Export Wizard.

Field Trial Design Factor with out Source Info It has all the required columns required for field trial of crop.
Field Trial Design Factor with Source Info It has all the required columns required for field trial of crop and has source trial unit information has well.
Field Trial Design With Seeding Rate This group has all the required columns to export/import trial design. Please note that it does NOT include Id columns such as SiteId, TrialId etc. it is created by Avi but other user may use it.
Field Trial Design With Source Trial Unit This group has all the required columns (with columns for Source Trial Unit) to export/import trial design. Please note that it does NOT include Id columns such as SiteId, TrialId etc. it is created by Avi but other user may use it.
Field Trial Design Without Source Trial Unit This group has all the required columns (but without Source Trial Unit columns) to export/import trial design. Please note that it does NOT include Id columns such as SiteId, TrialId etc. it is created by Avi but other user may use it.

Main Form

Use of the following to load the main form:

  1. Misc Group Main Form displaying all the Misc Groups. 
    • Use [ View > Arrange columns in Main Form ] to change default order of displayed. Alternately it can be changed  by editing Misc Group MiscGroupSetupDataGrid.

  2. Selected Sub-system to display columns list for the selected Misc Group (ie SiteSetupDataGrid in the snapshot).
  3. Column list of the selection Misc Group for the Selected Sub-system (see 2)
    • The default order of columns displayed in the Column List Form can be changed by editing the column list of the Misc Group MiscGroupFactorSubSystemSetupDataGrid.
  4. Click it to update Column List of the selected Sub-system (2) for the Misc Group (ie SiteSetupDataGrid in the snapshot).
  5. Delete the selected Column or Virtual Column from the Column List of the selected Sub-system (2) for the Misc Group (ie SiteSetupDataGrid in the snapshot).
  6. Import Column List from an external source file.
  7. Select one or more Misc Groups and click it to export column list of the seleceted Misc groups.
  8. Click it to copy column list of the selected Misc Group for the selected Sub-system (2) to the target Misc Group.

To add/edit a Misc Group (for Export Wizrd), follow the steps below :

Column List of Misc Group

Column  List of a Misc Group for a Sub-system contains columns and virtual columns that can be used in that Sub-system (ie the columns and virtual column have at least blank validation rule for that Sub-system).

Use [ Record > Update Column List ] to load following form.

  1. Select a table name to load its column and/or virtual column names. In the snapshot, [ All ] is selected to load all the column and virtual column names in the database.
  2. Selected Misc Group (in the Main Form) to update the column name.
  3. Dual List displaying column and virtual columns.
  4. Selected Sub-system for which the columns in [ Included (Virtual) Column/s ] list are updated.
    • User can just select a different Sub-system name to update the list for that Sub-system (which is basically copying column list of the selected Sub-system in the Main Form to another Sub-system for the same Misc group).

Update Column List of multiple Misc Group

Important Note: Read Column List information first.

Use [ Record > Update Column List for Misc Groups ] to load following form.

Arrange Columns in Main Form

Column  List for the datagrid in the Main Form can be customised by using [ View > Arrange columns in Main Form ] (ie click on [ View ] menu when a Main Form is displayed).
